Anti-Bullying

All pupils in school have the right to feel safe, listened to, supported and feel able to learn. At Stockham Primary school, we are committed to ensuring every child has the same equal rights to learn and be safe at our school. We provide a safe and positive learning environment within which we seek to develop a mutually supportive culture where children can understand and express their feelings and respect those of others.

To ensure this, all pupils and staff know, understand and consistently follow the school Behaviour policy and curriculum. Through our PSHE Jigsaw curriculum, regular safeguarding and behaviour assemblies, taking part in Anti-bullying week, breaktime and lunchtime support by MDSAs and Play leaders/Play mediators and recognising and celebrating other national events, pupils are educated and supported in being respectful, tolerant and kind to one another in school. Pupils reflect on what is means to celebrate diversity and tolerance through our learning character Kando KIte.

At Stockham we have a zero tolerance to bullying. We regularly teach and support children in understanding what bullying is, what to do if you feel are being bullied or someone you know is being bullied and the difference between being an upstander and bystander. Pupils learn about how bullying can take place both in person and online and through our computing curriculum and online safety pupils understand how to address this.
